cutting the ties that bind.

Reclaim Your Identity. Heal Your Inner Child. Restore Your Freedom.

Cutting the Ties That Bind is a profound healing process developed by Phyllis Krystal to help you release unconscious patterns formed in childhood—especially those rooted in your relationship with your parents or early caregivers. Using regression, guided meditation, symbols from the subconscious, and inner-child connection, this work frees you from inherited emotional wounds and restores your ability to choose your life from the inside out.

Importantly, “cutting the ties” does not mean severing contact or rejecting a parent or caregiver. Rather, it is an energetic untying and healing of stagnant, unconscious knots—the emotional cords formed through dependency, fear, obligation, or unmet needs. This process helps disentangle your sense of self from early survival patterns, allowing you to relate from clarity and inner authority rather than reactivity.

In many circumstances, this inner work can even support the healing of the relationship itself, making space for a new way of relating—one that is freer, more authentic, and no longer governed by the same triggers that once kept you stuck. Whether or not outer relationships change, the inner shift restores choice, dignity, and emotional freedom.

The method is simple, symbolic, and deeply effective. It works on the level where patterns were formed: the subconscious, the emotional body, and the energetic imprint of your early relationships.

Why This Work Matters

From birth, we bond energetically with our parents. Even if they loved us deeply, they could not help but pass on their unhealed fears, limitations, and defenses. As children, we absorb these traits automatically—and they become the blueprint for how we relate to life, to love, to ourselves, and to others.

These patterns stay active in adulthood until they are consciously released.

Cutting the Ties That Bind helps you:

  • Recognize how your early conditioning shaped your emotional landscape

  • Release limiting beliefs and inherited fears

  • Repair your inner-child’s unmet needs

  • Reclaim power from parents, partners, or authority figures

  • Develop a sense of wholeness that isn’t defined by anyone else

This work liberates both your past and your future.

What the Process Involves

Inner-Child Healing Through Dreamwork, Symbols, & Meditation

This work uniquely integrates weekly dream interpretation with symbolic meditation. By meeting once a week to explore your dreams, we track where you are in the healing process and allow the work to unfold organically. Dreams act as a living guide, revealing which inner-child patterns, emotional ties, or identity layers are ready to heal.

Dreams are a powerful tool because they arise directly from the subconscious mind, which naturally brings forward what is ready to be seen, released, and integrated. Combined with symbolic meditation, this approach reaches levels of healing that traditional talk therapy may not always access.

Week to week

The Cutting the Ties process typically unfolds over 8–10 weeks. We begin with a guided regression to identify which parent or early caregiver you’ll be working with and to clarify the core emotional and karmic patterns connected to that relationship.

The following weeks involve weekly sessions that integrate dream interpretation and counseling to track where you are in the healing process and support whatever material arises. Dreams often guide the work, but if no dreams surface, the process continues just as effectively through conscious exploration of emerging patterns and emotions.

The final session includes a guided meditation and closing ceremony to release any remaining energetic ties and to honor and integrate the healing that has taken place.
